As the name suggests Pro includes additional features most likely to be used by professional designers. Xaras Designer Pro 7 is still at its core a superfast en very friendly program. Illustration, photo editing, DTP and document creation, web graphics and websites - Designer Pro does it all. Xara Xtreme can produce compact, highly optimized graphics, making it an ideal choice for creating web graphics, and with this in mind we have added a tools to aid in creating graphics for the web, such as a NavBar tool, image slicing capability and Dreamweaver integration. Xara Designer Pro X10 is a fully integrated single package solution for all your graphic design needs, for print and the web. As well as all the drawing tools you would expect, Xara X offers options such as automated shadows, bevels and contours, pressure sensitive brush stroking, multi-stage graduated fills and feathering. Rather than falling into the bloatware trap that is common with graphics products, Xara has concentrated on creating the worlds best implementation of the essential toolset that designers really need, in order to ensure that working with Xara X can be both highly creative and very productive. You can have many levels of indent which automatically changes the bullet and you can use a different custom bullet for each level.Producing vector illustrations is quick and easy using the comprehensive drawing tools, but many of the advanced features which Xara pioneered - such as transparency and real-time anti-aliasing - can be applied to both vector and bitmap images. If the object you paste into the text is larger the spacing between lines is altered to the height of the embedded object as you can see demonstrated with the larger circle above.
It is best to keep the object you are embedding around the same height as the capital letter in the text you are using. To embed an object in text, simply copy the object to the clipboard, insert the Text Tool cursor in the text and Edit > Paste Group Embedded. This is the type of tool that some will find distracting as they experiment with various effects.

This plug-in allows you access to over 100 presets plus the ability to create your own effects for enhancing photos. Objects and original graphics can now be embedded in the text and if embedded in a text area, they flow with the text if the text is edited or the text area is resized. A Magic Bullet PhotoLooks 2.0 plug-in, previously sold by Red Giant for 199, comes bundled with Xara Designer Pro X10. You can set a specific distance for the Push Margins, the distance that is maintained between the pusher and the pushee as it were. Some previous Text Tool additions include: Spell Checking, bullet lists, indent/outdent, connected flowing text areas, paragraph spacing to name just a few.įigure 05 Push is also an option found in the Position on Page menu and as the name suggests, any object designated to push, pushes other push objects as the object or text area expands. Over the years that I have been using Xara (beginning with CorelXara), more and more desktop publishing text features have been added giving users the needed tools to create sophisticated print and website documents. In addition to all the new features found in Xara Web Designer MX Premium ( read my review here), many of which I recap in this review, there are some really exciting new, much requested features that you have been begging for, such as an Eraser Tool, a Shape Builder Tool (think paint brush), and a very, very powerful Color Select/Erase Tool (the answer to the question, “How do I get rid of the white background? but oh such much more than that!) We’ll look at these tools in a few moments but first, let’s look at what else is new. Maybe because X marks the spot? Or there is a lot to get X-cited about?
